KNOTTS
March 13, 2021
Polly Magazine Offices @ Queen City Clay

“Along with [Adalia] Powell-Boehne, KNOTTS has consisted of keyboardist and bassist Antoine Franklin, lead electric guitarist Jordan Wilson and percussionist CJ Eliasen since the band's founding in 2017.  The sound of KNOTTS is dreamy and honest, with precise and personal lyricism. As the band’s Spotify bio articulates, knots are shapeshifting, detangling and re-tangling, fluid in dynamic; the stylings of KNOTTS embody these attributes. It’s not easy to pin KNOTTS into a single genre. The band has ventured into the synth-y and glimmering realm of dream pop, the minimalistic sphere of indie-folk, and is currently working on a rhythm and blues/dance record. While KNOTTS avoids a singular genre categorization, the overt vulnerability of their lyrics and impassioned tone is a common thread throughout their discography.” — Meghan Malas, CityBeat

Jazz at the campSITE
campSITE Sculpture Park

Ron Jones (alto saxophone)
Rob Allgeyer (piano)
Aaron Jacobs (bass)
Jim Leslie (drums)

Even though jazz saxophonist Ron Jones lives down the road in Louisville, he and his Jazz Quartet have been a fixture on the Cincinnati jazz scene for 30+ years. Ron's group always bring lots of energy and an intense swing to their performances, and is sure not to disappoint.

The group features Ron Jones on alto saxophone, Rob Allgeyer on piano, Aaron Jacobs on bass, and Jim Leslie on drums, some of the best Cincinnati has to offer on their respective instruments. This was a SWINGIN' night of music, as the group performed a few of Ron's original compositions and some wonderful arrangements of other tunes.

An Acoustic Evening with The Newbees and The Bee Strings
July 9, 2021
Union Hall

Jeff Perholtz (guitar, vocals)
Misty Perholtz (guitar, vocals)
Tim Seiwert (percussion, vocals)
Lisa Kim (violin)
Vince Scacchetti (viola)
Diana Flores (cello)

The Newbees are madly in love, with music and with celebrating life. For over 15 years, the Cincinnati-based band has produced compelling original compositions and delivered exuberant performances with exceptional musicianship, rich harmony, lush orchestrations, high energy, and fearless positivity.

With all gigs canceled during the 2020 pandemic, band leaders Jeff and Misty Perholtz went on a cross-country expedition with their mobile recording studio to produce an 11-episode travel/music docuseries called A Band & A Van, which is currently available on YouTube and will be released later this summer on Amazon Prime. To accompany the docuseries, the band also released a three-volume soundtrack of original music, which is now available on Spotify, Apple Music, or your favorite streaming outlet. As part of LAS Underground, they performed an acoustic collection of songs from A Band & A Van with their string trio.

Lauren Eylise
July 30, 2021
Five Points Alley

Lauren Eylise staked her spot in the music industry with the release of her debut EP Life/Death/Life in September 2017; however, music has been this singer-songwriter's heart and soul for as long as she can remember.

Her genre-defying music can only be accurately categorized as eclectic-soul, as an array of influences make up her sound while each song is born from lessons of the soul.

Lauren has opened stages for the likes of Patti LaBelle, Erykah Badu, Tank and the Bangas, Lucky Daye, Jidenna, Train, Mat Kearney, Raheem DeVaughn, Tank, and more. She has appeared as a frontwoman for P&G's Secret Deodorant #AllStrengthNoSweat campaign, appearing on the Kelly Clarkson show and a list of Secret deodorant commercial spots as an artist and songwriter. Most recently, Lauren stole the spotlight with a host of incredible write-ups and features as the runner-up in the 2020 Tiny Desk Contest with her performance of her original song “Peaks & Valleys”.

Lauren’s sophomore album, This Is Personal, was premiered in an exclusive, socially distanced show at Music Hall. Released on December 4, 2020, the album is now available on all digital music stores and streaming platforms.

Berachah Valley

"Berachah Valley brings to their performances a true spirit of fun and tradition along with inspiration that reaches out beyond the music. We love having them on the World's Original Wheeling Jamboree USA!" — D. Heath, Wheeling Jamboree, Inc.

Berachah Valley was created in the spring of 2005 when a few friends came together searching for a place to play traditional bluegrass, gospel, and traditional renditions of current favorites. Audiences quickly see the result is a uniquely smooth combination of musicianship and female vocal harmonies influenced by the recordings of The Isaacs, The Forbes Family, Emmylou Harris, The Whites, and various other artists.

The band has had the good fortune to travel to Indiana, Tennessee, Michigan, Missouri, West Virginia, Virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Ohio to perform at many bluegrass festivals, bluegrass and gospel venues, radio programs, TV programs, fairs, and community events.

Berachah Valley is currently included as the bluegrass band in a new family film called Mayberry Man. The group filmed on location in Indiana and Mount Airy, North Carolina.
